Here is what we had today with our simulations:
6/27 MLB WEDNESDAY - Brewers Vs Reds - 12:35PM ET
SIMULATION RESULT
MILWAUKEE 3, CINCINNATI 2
This was a bit more of a pitcher's dual than most thought and it makes sense with the guys on the mound but the simulation puts the Brewers out on top here. It was George Kottaras who hit a 2-Run HR in the 8th inning that really changed this game. Zack Greinke lasted only 5.0 innings and allowed 8 hits and 2 ER's but he did strikeout 7 Cincinnati batters and pitched well enough to keep his team in a position to win. Corey Hart broke a 2-2 tie with a solo shot that finished off the Reds and their bullpen. Homer Bailey started and went 7.0 strong innings of work allowing only 5 hits and 2 ER's but the bullpen could not hold on and like they have done so many times this year the Reds blow a game because of their pen.
OUR PLAY: Milwaukee Brewers ML -114
PLAYER OF THE GAME: George Kottaras (Milwaukee), 2-4, HR, 2 RBI, R
SEATTLE 11, OAKLAND 5
Finally a high scoring game in this series and the simulation calls for both starting pitchers to get lit up like a Christmas Tree. The Mariners don't pack much punch in their lineup but the doctor ordered a rookie pitcher in Jarrod Parker and the Mariners took full advantage scoring 8 runs through the first four innings of this game. Kevin Millwood was on the other side of the mound and we can't say he was much better but he was durable and lasted 7.0 innings allowing 5 ER's on 9 hits with 3 strikeouts for the win. Parker ended up allowing all 8 ER's early in this game and the bullpen, although they stopped the bleeding, weren't that much better. Seattle catcher Jesus Montero hit two home runs giving him 10 on the year and he also drove in 4 runs. In a breakout performance, the Mariners are the play.
OUR PLAY: Seattle Mariners ML +101
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jesus Montero (Seattle) 2-5, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R
6/27 MLB WEDNESDAY - Angels Vs Orioles - 7:05PM ET
SIMULATION RESULT
LA ANGELS 3, BALTIMORE 1
Once again our simulation calls for the Baltimore Orioles to struggle at the plate like they have done for the most part of this series with the Angels. It won't get much better for them tonight with Jered Weaver on the mound. He pitched a gem in this one going 8.0 innings, allowing only 1 ER and allowing only 3 hits while striking out 10 Baltimore batters in what has become a depleted lineup for Buck Showalter and crew. Kendry Morales provided some offense for the Angels who themselves managed to belt out 13 hits in the game but all they really needed was their starting pitcher who is starting to find him form once again at the right time of the season. Jason Hammel pitched a strong 5.1 innings for Baltimore allowing 7 hits and 2 ER's but it was his 4 BB's that did him in and the veteran took the loss. The Angels win again.
OUR PLAY: LA Angels ML -132
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jered Weaver (LA Angels), 8.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 10 K
